He started as an intern at Jung von Matt and became the youngest strategy director in the company's history at only age 28. Two years later he was named equity partner at Jung von Matt SPORTS before he founded his own agency in December 2019: Jung von Matt NERD - a curating consultancy for a new pop culture of a new generation:
Toan is specialized in advising pop cultural partnerships for brands and right holders such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Pringles, McDonald's, ESL, Riot Games, Xbox, Warner Bros. and many more.
He was a Cannes Lions jury member for Branded Entertainment and a Clio awards judge.
He co-wrote three books, writes a monthly column and is a university lecturer for master students.
Toan holds university degrees from Maastricht University, Nanyang Technological University and Erasmus University - Rotterdam School of Management (cum laude with distinction).
Andre is the go-to guy when it comes to creative artwork and art directing. Born and raised in Frankfurt/Main, he’s literally seen most of the world. As a creative, as a traveler, as a gamer, teacher and lecturer.
In February 2021 Andre became an official NERD, by joining Jung von Matt’s curating consultancy for a new pop culture as Managing Director. Being Art Director for FLEET and the Academy as well as Senior Art Director and Creative Director for Jung von Matt NEXT ALSTER before and first working with Jung von Matt back in 2001, he knows the group’s skills and powers well.
Andre’s excellency and accuracy in design and creativity enables him to leave an award-winning impact on the work he does. Whether at Philipp und Keuntje, where he was Art Director, at Grabarz&Partner, where he was in lead as Creative Director or as a freelancer – the artist also known as “The Surfing Trooper” handles brands and campaigns for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, VW Commercial Vehicles, Lufthansa, Deutsche Post, Netflix, Yamaha, Obi, MTV and many more.
Being the creative mastermind behind 2011’s third most watched viral video “Dirt Devil – Exorcist” adds to his portfolio as well as being a highly decorated gamer.
Andre finished the Frankfurt Academy of Visual Communication with a diploma in Graphic Design. Also, he’s been a lecturer at Miami Ad School and Teacher at Jung von Matt Academy.
